Frequently Asked Questions
What are the requirements and criteria for becoming a member of Lambda Links?

We welcome all skill levels; however, to become a member, we ask that the following criteria be met:

  • You have played at least five 18 hole rounds of golf
  • You know about Pace of Play
  • You are familiar with the Rules of Golf
  • You are familiar with Golf Etiquette
Ok, I meet the requirements and criteria to become a member.  What happens next?

You can expect e-mail messages about weekly golf outings and events.  We have several scrambles throughout the year, and a Club Championship held at the end of the season.  Check out our Calendar for our weekly outings, and any special events such as scrambles, and Club Championship.

How do I request to play in a weekly outing?

Once you have joined Lambda Links and have been added to the e-mail list, you will begin receiving weekly e-mail messages about upcoming golf events.  If you would like to play in a Lambda Links outing, here's what you do.

  • Reply to the coordinator's e-mail message requesting to play in that week's outing

  • The coordinator will then e-mail you back confirming your request to play in that week's outing*

  • The coordinator will then send an e-mail closer to the date of the event with pairings and directions

  • Show up at the golf course at least 30 minutes before your tee time

*Please Note:  Do not assume just because you replied to the coordinator's e-mail message that you have a spot to play - only if the coordinator sends you a confirmation e-mail do you have a spot to play.  This means do not show up at the golf course thinking you have a spot, unless you received a confirmation e-mail.

What happens if I sign up to play and have to cancel?

Depending on the policy of the golf course, you may be required to pay for the round of golf even if you do not participate after signing up.  If you must cancel, we will do our best to fill the slot for you, but cannot guarantee the slot will be filled.  The majority of courses do not charge us for canceled tee times, but some do and that will be indicated in the coordinator's initial e-mail about the outing.   Finally, cancellations *are* burdensome on the tee time coordinators, so if you do sign up please make an effort to keep your tee time obligation.

How do I get more information about setting up a handicap with the club?

For questions about handicaps please e-mail us at lambdalinks@yahoo.com

Are members allowed to brings guests to play?  If so, what is the guest policy?

Yes. A member is allowed three guest passes for a full season and one pass for a partial season. You may sign up a guest at the same time you sign up to play, which is an e-mail to the weekly tee time coordinator. If you have used up your three guest passes, a non-member can play for an additional cost.

Non-members may play with the Club for an extra $5 each time. However non-members must wait until Thursday before the playing weekend to request a tee time slot, taking what is still available.
A non-member is a person who does not have a guest pass from a current club member.

We ask that guests and non-members meet the same criteria as our members, that they have played at least five 18 hole rounds of golf, know about pace of play, and are familiar with the rules of golf and golf etiquette.

Are Guests and Non-Members allowed to play in special club events, such as scrambles and the Club Championship?

Any active member may participate. A non-member or guest may also participate but will be required to pay an extra $10 for costs associated with putting on the special event (except for the year end Club Championship). A non-member or guest may play in the Club Championship, but is not eligible for prizes or trophies.  We ask that guests and non-members meet the same criteria as our members, that they have played at least five 18 hole rounds of golf, know about pace of play, and are familiar with the rules of golf and golf etiquette.

Any member may play in the Club Championship but that member must have played in at least 3 club events to be eligible for prizes or trophies.
